The scans will be faster in safe mode as all of your computer's resources can be utilized for scanning.

There is really no way to tell just how long a ''scan'' is going to take. It depends on how big the hard drive is and how much data is on that drive.
the first time it takes pretty long but other times it doesn't take long at all.
