Hi
Thanks for your useful replies. But there is nothing which clears my doubts as If I have to scan my D drive after taking back up then why not C itself...I would have gone for simply Scanning of C drive with updated Anti virus and Get out of that virus I wouldn't have gone for formatting of C drive....
I don't have updated Anti virus and not even an internet connection then u tell me is there any way to get out of it.....?????
Thanks for your useful replies But???antivirus protection
I went and read your original post and have posted this message to you in both places to ensure you see it...
I strongly recommend you purchase antivirus / firewall / anti-spyware combo from a RELIABLE vendor like McAfee... properly configure it to scan for things like PuPs (potentially unwanted programs) and ensure it is automatically updating.
You will absolutely want to install this and update this on your computer before even thinking about moving back over data from the infected systems backed up files... and you should completely scan your D drive first before copying anything back over AND /OR before opening or running any of the files on the D drive.
If you can only afford an Antivirus / Firewall combo from a RELIABLE vendor (like mcafee, norton, etc) then you can get Spybot S%26D from http://www.safer-networking.org to scan for, remove, and protect against spyware/adware.
