I have this stupid icon in the lower right of my screen. It keeps popping up a bubbly saying " System Alert! System has detected a number of active spyware applications that may impact the performance of your computer. Click the icon to get rid of unwanted spyware by downloading an up-to-date spyware solution." I clicked it (how stupid). And it led me to A VirusHeat website. I clicked Downloads and started downloading. But, my AVG detected a virus. I deleted the virus. And, I cancelled the download. But, I think the virus had got into my system.
As for the icon, right-clicking it won't do no good coz it would lead you to the virusheat website. HOW CAN I GET RID OF THIS!!!??? The icon, btw, looks like a shield (sometimes blue, sometimes red), and sometimes there a question mark, and other times the letter X.
PLEASE HELP ME!
I tried full scanning using AVG, and AVG Anti-spyware, also NOD32. Useless. I also tried Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal. Also useless.
VIRUS HEAT??? OR Just Spyware?auto protect
That first suggestion is for Spyware Doctor, which is an excellent antispy, however all it does for free is scan... you have to buy it to remove what it finds.
Here is a free removal procedure for Virus Heat:

And since Virus Heat got into your system via a trojan infection, I would suggest that you run Superantispyware afterward to remove any other malware that the trojan may have brought in.
