Hosts file changed?

I scanned my Vista laptop with AVG Anti Virus free. It shows two files that have been shown as changed. The names are:

ntoskrnl.exe

hosts

Both have been reported as changed and are in the path

C:/Windows/system32

Is this a problem or not. If it is, how do i solve it. Please help

Hosts file changed?free spyware

It is normal that AVG shows that files, the MBR or Boot record to have changed. These are done during normal maintainance, when you or windows updates files or have had to correct errors on the drive. The only time that you should worry is if they also show as infected

Windows\System32\kernel32.dll Result Change and Status Changed

Windows\System32\shell32.dll Result Change and Status Changed

Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts Result Change and Status Changed

See confimation from AVG below.

you shouldnt allow your host file to be changed....

there are applications like spybot search and destroy with the ability to lock the file from changes.
